Mobile Crisis Response
Committed to serving every member of our community with dignity and respect, our volunteer-led Mobile Crisis Team prioritizes immediate safety, trauma-informed care, and stabilization through these five primary responsibilities:
1. Comprehensive Peer Evaluation
We prioritize immediate physical safety and emotional well-being by focusing on the individual's lived experience ("what happened to you"). Our volunteer team provides an active, compassionate presence to help stabilize individuals during the critical initial hours of distress, without attempting to clinically diagnose or treat psychiatric conditions.
2. Person-Centered Emotional & Spiritual Support
We offer nonjudgmental emotional comfort and a reassuring presence to help individuals navigate overwhelming circumstances. Our team utilizes trauma-informed care principles to ensure every individual feels heard, respected, and safe, tailoring our support strictly to the comfort level, cultural background, and expressed choices of the client.
3. Practical Care & Active Referrals
We connect individuals directly to local community resources, emergency shelters, food pantries, and professional healthcare providers. Our Mobile Crisis Team coordinates directly with local agencies during our active response to bridge individuals to long-term professional care networks. If you are experiencing an immediate crisis and need resource assistance, please contact us directly using our Contact Us Page or call our support line.
4. Non-Clinical Crisis Stabilization
Our volunteers utilize recognized, evidence-based, non-clinical interventions to help defuse immediate emergencies. We focus on establishing physical and psychological safety, de-escalating volatile situations, and reducing the need for law enforcement interventions.
5. Relational Follow-Up & Continuity
We maintain a consistent relational presence to ensure individuals and families are supported as they rebuild stability. Our team follows up with individuals post-crisis to ensure they remain safely and successfully connected to their long-term community support networks.
